The Unsold Christmas Tree
This work is related to my last performance, Sound of Screaming Plants. During the performance, I bowed to and danced with plants. I used my own physical body to communicate beyond our languages. In the end, I gave new artificial soil to my Anke.
The plants that surround me are not native to where I live. They left their place of origin, and people let them get smaller and weaker. Their moving began with colonial history and sparked decoration trends.
I am still working on this project, where I observe and try to be more aware of my surroundings. For instance, the unsold Christmas trees that are thrown out into the bush, or the dead branches after a big storm which nobody cares about, or a cut tree trunk on the pavement.
