Yun Hyejeong, a South Korean visual artist and documentary filmmaker based in Germany since 2015, explores societal dynamics within hegemonic structures. Through moving image, installations, and performances, she deconstructs colonial myths, offering critical perspectives on culture, race, and power. Using her body, voice, and language, her works address intersectional identities through her personal narratives to micro history.
A recipient of the "Germany Scholarship" twice, Yun was nominated for the DAAD Prize in 2021. Her films have been featured at an international level on several occasions like the Asian American International Film Festival in New York City, the European Media Art Festival in Germany and Seoul experimental Film Festival in South Korea.
